We had two excellent tours with Roobaroo Walks: the North Walk and evening aarti ceremony with Saurabh; the South Walk and sunrise boat tour with Sudarshan. Both tours showed us sides to the city we wouldn’t have been able to find on our own e.g. local tea rooms; winding backstreet lanes; hidden temples. We really enjoyed both tours and Saurabh and Sudarshan put us at ease. We left each tour feeling like we’d made a new friend. Varanasi is an amazing, breathtaking city – we’d really recommend using Roobaroo Walks to make the most of your time here!

A really well informed and knowledgeable local guide, who speaks excellent English and was able to bring the whole experience to life using appropriate humour and modern day interpretaion. I took two walks, Sunrise (South) and Sunset (North) and both were fantastic and included time on The Ganges by boat. I was recommended to Roobaroo by a friend and I will certainly pass on my recommendations to others. Extremely good tour, reasonably priced, no enforced shopping and first class customer service and communications.

We booked two walks with them. The morning boat ride + south walk and the evening boat ride + north walk. . Both were led by Mudita who is extremely warm friendly and knowledgeable. She walked us through the narrow bylanes and showed us the hidden treasures of the city. We were extremely glad that we booked these walks as they enriched our experience of this lovely place..

Unfortunately we only had 1 day to explore this incredible city & I’m so glad we did it with Roobaroo Walks.
We met Anupam at 5.15am to watch the morning ceremony, and watch the sunset on the river. We then had a short walk around the South side of the city & some delicious street food for breakfast. As a photographer Anupam was also able to give us some photography tips along the way 😁
Later that day we met Sudarshan for a tour around the North side of the City & an evening boat ride to view the Crematorium site & evening Aarty Ceremony. Sudarshan is something special. Full of fantastic stories both mythological & scientific explaining why things happen in Varanasi as they do. Plus he introduced us to the best samosa we have ever tasted! 😋
The city was magical and one of the most interesting, beautiful & spiritual places I have ever had the pleasure to visit. The river Ganga is pure beauty & the stories attached to it make the place even more magical.
Thank you to Anupam & Sudarshan for making our day there so special and especially to Sud for letting me know we have family there when we return. 😁
